Ecomagination Redesign
Web, Interaction
The obective of this redesign, more than any other GE digital initiative to date, was designed to encourage the audience to join the conversation with GE editors and noted guest bloggers who curated topics relevant to the broader environmental dialogue.
The visual design of the site introduced a bolder color palette and provided a flexible framework for diverse content and communication needs. Supporting design templates and direction were provided for social media outlets and mobile components related to new product announcements.
The project was done during my internship at frog design in collaboration with Kris Konno (Project Manager), Ranee Chung (Senior Designer), Dami You (Designer), Sean Lee (Designer), Kyle Crouse (Technologist), and Adam Silver (Strategist).

Ecomagination Challenge Register Page
The Ecomagination Challenge launched simultaneously with the Ecomagination redesign. The Challenge site allows people to upload their ideas of how to create a better smart grid. The winning ideas will be funded by General Electric. I mainly worked on the registration and idea submission part of the process. It was an important part of the website, as it is the first page the users interact with when using the site. It was important to keep the registration page simple to reduce the barrier to entry, because some users would only register to comment or vote on ideas, thus it's not necessary to get the same information from them than from power users.
Submit Your Ideas
To guarantee that GE is giving their money to a credible inventor, the idea submission page requires a lot more information. To make the form seem less intimidating, the form is logically laid out, and the information is seperated into two categories, public information and private information (for judges eyes only). The subtle gradient provides the visual separation that breaks up the page.
